2 month doctors appointment 4:23 PM

So, yesterday was Maddy's 2 month checkup ( we scheduled a little late!). Things went well. She weighs 11lbs 4 oz and is 23 inches long! woo hoo! She is doing great and really healthy. The NP was amazed at how strong she was.

For the time being, we have decided not to vaccinate her. It is a very personal decision, but we really don't feel comfortable injecting such a small child with so much stuff. It seems very dangerous to me. We have done some research, so this isn't a spur of the moment thing, it was a tough decision to make. I still haven't ruled it out completely, but until she's at least 2 years old, nobody is coming near my baby with a needle!! The NP was very respectful about our decision and wasn't pushy or forceful at all. I was really worried about that, so it was a relief to have her understand that ultimately it is our decision. We'll see how difficult it becomes when we go to enroll her in school. I know we can file for exemptions, but sometimes the authorities can get involved and it can get nasty.

Also, they have ordered another oxygen test for sometime next week. They tested her at the office without the oxygen when she was sleeping and she was sating at 99%. The doctors office is 7300 feet in elevation and we are at 8520, so they said she would probably be at 95% or so at home, which is great! So, she shouldn't have any problem passing this test (hopefully their equipment is better this time!) and then we can get rid of the O2 once and for all!

Well, that's it for now. I leave you with a couple of pictures.

She is so adorable! I wish I could just kiss her little cheeks. She has such bright eyes! I have not had one problem with my girls going to school without their immunizations! I filled out a "religious" exemption. I guess that each state is different. Good for you in sticking to your guns! I love you!
