some new pics 7:40 PM

hey everyone! so, here are some pics from Tiff's visit. I somehow didn't manage to get one of us all together. I think my mom might have one of me, Tiff, and the girls. I will have to get it from her! Anyways, things are going alright here. Not much new to report. Maddy is getting bigger every day and starting to develop a personality. She doesn't like to sleep much it seems. She fights it when she's tired. She's stubborn! Must get that from her Daddy...lol....not me!

We go back to the doctor on the first for her 1 month visit. They will order another overnight oxygen test then and we will pray pray pray that she passes that one!

After she is off the oxygen, we have decided to switch to a family care physician that we know instead of the pediatrician's office. They won't hassle us about not vaccinating her. It is our personal decision, and I don't want to feel pressured or like I am a bad parent for choosing to wait if we ever do vaccinate!

That's it for now! Will post again soon!

What a past few days.... 1:00 PM

Well, I hadn't posted in a few days because the power was out for awhile, and my internet was down! We got almost 40 inches of snow here!!! Talk about a crazy spring snowstorm! It is still snowing, and we are supposed to get another 6 to 8 inches through tonight. Mom was supposed to leave today, but the roads were closed. They are open now, and she is trying to decide whether to leave now or wait until tomorrow. We are concerned that she might get stranded for even longer if she waits, but we want her to be safe too! So, we'll figure it out!
Anyways, news with Maddy is that she failed her oxygen test. The doctors haven't told me yet, but I can read a monitor, and her O2 levels on room air when she was sleeping were only about an average of 89%. Poor baby girl, she's got to stay on the oxygen for awhile longer. Right now, I am shooting for her to be off it by 3 months. That would be nice, she won't be crawling yet.
She could be off it sooner, but it seems to be taking her awhile to acclumate.
Tiffany and Jason are leaving tomorrow as well. I have some cute pictures that I will post tomorrow!
So, starting tomorrow, when Daddy goes to work, it will be just Mommy and Maddy! It will be a change, but I think we are ready for it!
Love to all of you, and will post those pictures soon!

12:28 PM

So, today was Maddy's 2 week checkup and it went well. She now weighs 8lbs 6oz, up a whole pound and 3 oz from her birthweight! She has grown 1/2 an inch, now 20 whole inches long!
The nurse said that she is in the 50th percentile in weight, length, and head size. Smack dab in the middle is great with us!
The oxygen company will be bringing us a monitor either today or tomorrow, and we will monitor her oxygen overnight. Just a little pulse ox meter on her foot. The data will be sent to the doctors office and they will let us know if she can come off of it or not. Basically, we need her oxygen to stay above 92% pretty much all the time, or she stays on the oxygen. So, say some oxygen prays for her!!! I am TRYING not to get my hopes up, but it would be so wonderful to have her off the O2!
Tiffany and Co. will be here in a couple of hours. We will get lots of good pictures of all of us together. I can't wait to see them. I will post some pics tomorrow!
Love you all!!

Easter pics 3:12 PM

Hi all! So, we went to Jason's Aunt Kathy's for Easter yesterday. It was great to have her in Denver and not be on oxygen. I took a few pics, and thought that I would share some with you. There are more on the facebook page! We had a long night last night, Madeline has been having some trouble with a gassy belly. Hopefully, it will sort itself out soon. It was awful to see her so miserable.

Tiffany, Jason, and Julianna will be out on Wednesday, pray that they have a safe journey here! Will update again soon!

PICTURES-FINALLY! 6:19 PM

she loves the vibrating bouncy seat!

Maddy and Daddy

no, Mommy, I don't want to sleep!

okay, maybe I am sleepy!

right before her bath. and, below, in the middle of the bath!
So, yesterday I finally bought a new camera, which I am really excited about. It's a Canon Rebel XS and it takes great pictures. I am still learning how to use it, because it's a complicated piece of equipment! I took some pictures today with it for the first time, and thought that I would share some with you.

Jason and I gave Madeline her first "bath" today. It was really a sponge bath, but she needed it. She had lots of dry skin that needed sloughed off. She was NOT happy with us messing with her! But, once she got dried off, she calmed down.

We go back to the doctor on the 15th, and hopefully can begin the "weaning down" process on the oxygen. Please pray for that. Although, it's not horrible lugging the tank around, it will make life easier when it is gone!
That's about it for today.
Will update with more pics again soon!

oh, and i don't know how to get the pics to be after the blog...Amber, if you could help me that would be awesome!!! I am sure it is easy, I just can't figure it out!

1 week old today!! 6:05 PM

Wow. It's hard to believe that it's already been a week since I have had Madeline. Although, it kinda seems like longer, because I don't think that I have ever slept so little in my life! LOL! I know that will get better. Things are going well. I got my staples out, which is nice, and the breastfeeding is going great today. No bottles at all for the last 2 days!
There isn't much new to report, and I am exhausted, so I am going to take a nap while she hangs out with Daddy.
I PROMISE that I will post more pictures soon. Right now I am just too lazy to get the camera and upload the pictures to the computer. But, I will post more soon, the rash on her face is gone, and she looks way cute!!!
Love you all!
Jet
p.s. the swelling in my feet is down alot today, which is great. Hopefully in the next few days, it will be gone completely!

Falling into a routine 8:07 PM

Well, not alot here to report. Just enjoying spending time with my daughter. I am tired, but I think that is to be expected.
Our next appointment is on the 15th. We will check her oxygen levels then and see if we can wean her o2 down. More than likely she will be on the oxygen for at least another 3 weeks. Which totally bums me out. Not that it is a huge deal, it just makes life more difficult and she really does not like having that thing in her face.
The breastfeeding is going better today. It's just going to take awhile to really get it down. So, pray for that!
I go to the doctor tomorrow to get my staples out. They actually should have been out on Saturday, but since I went home a day early, I had to wait until Tuesday. But, my feet have still been really really swollen, and I am a bit concerned about that. I don't remember them being swollen for so long after I had Gabby. But, other than that I feel great.
Well, that's it for today. Mom hasn't downloaded any more pics from her camera yet, so I don't have any new ones, but I promise I will post some soon!

At home since Friday!! 4:34 PM

Well, things have been going well since we have been home. The only setback has been that Maddy has to be on oxygen for awhile. It has nothing to do with her lung function, but since we live at 8500 feet in elevation, it is going to take awhile for her lungs to acclumate to the thin air. The doctors told me that we will wean her off slowly, and they aren't really sure how long to expect. Every baby is different. Hopefully, it will only be a couple of weeks. It's been a pain, she keeps trying to pull the cannula off of her face, but since we have it taped, all she succeeds in doing is pissing herself off and screaming at the top of her lungs!!!!
Sleep has been alright, just sneaking an hour or two in wherever I can. It's taken a bit to get used to. I am glad that my mom is here, it has really helped Jason and I get a bit more sleep.
Breastfeeding is a challenge right now. She's not really taking the breast, because my milk has been a bit slow to come in. It's in, just doesn't get to her as fast as she would like. So, we have been pumping and then bottle feeding. I am a bit disappointed, but at least she is getting breastmilk and I actually know how much she is getting!
Well, I have a fussy hungry baby next to me, so I need to get. Just thought that I would update everyone! I will post some more pictures tomorrow.

A good day 5:15 PM

So, today has been a good day overall...I am tired, only slept maybe 2 hours last night. I think that I might go try and take a nap here in a few minutes. Madeline is doing really really well. She's really healthy and content. We are working on the breastfeeding, but my milk hasn't really come in yet. But, she's latching on, and getting colostrum!

Pray that her kidneys are functioning properly, they did an ultrasound today. This a standard test on all babies born with 2 vessel umbilical cords. They seemed fine according to the technician, but we won't know for sure until tomorrow.

Also, on a very mild note, she has a rash on her checks and chin, we think from the blankets and clothing the hospital provided. We changed her clothes and blankets, but she still has alot of redness. I have calendula salve and an oil blend that seem to be helping! So, pray that her little rash goes away!

We are HOPING to get to maybe go home a day early. Normally with c-sections, they keep you at least 3 days, but I haven't taken anything stronger than ibuprofen, and she's not having any issues, so the midwife told me to ask the doctor tomorrow morning when they make rounds. We are ready to go home...I am sure that our animals miss us!

That's it for today! Here are more pictures!

Jennette

oh yeah, on our way home, we have to go to the pediatrician to have her oxygen levels checked. Since we live at such a high elevation, she might have to be on oxygen until she gets acclumated to the altitude. We are right on the cusp of it being required!! So, pray that she doesn't need it, even though it won't be too big of a deal if she does!

Madeline has arrived!  Daddy is with her in the nursery, where she is getting cleaned up.  Mommy is still in recovery.  I don't know further details at this point, but will update as they come!  My mom said that she looks pretty big, and has lots of fuzzy hair!  Thank you Jesus for a safe delivery and a healthy girl!  Continue to be with Jennette, Jason and Maddy as they share these first hours of new life together!

Pray! C-Section Happening Soon 9:01 AM

Tiffany just called and said that Maddy's heart rate is not coming up after the contractions anymore so they are prepping Jennette for a C-Section. It'll most likely happen within the hour. Please pray!!!!

Moving Slowly 6:50 AM

Tiffany (Jennette's sister) just called and said that things are fine just moving slowly. Jennette is now 100% effaced, but only dilated to a 2. They gave her something to help her sleep in the night. So now we are hoping that things really ramp up and start happening! April 1st will be a fun birthday. (-:

Keep those prayers coming!

Love,
Amber
